This training open to all CoC Members and will be especially useful for case managers and frontline staff serving individuals and families across emergency shelter, rapid rehousing, and coordinated entry settings. The session will focus on strengthening LGBTQIA‑affirming, trauma‑informed practices within the homeless response system and addressing the unique challenges faced by LGBTQIA individuals experiencing housing instability.
The training will include:
A presentation from the Montgomery County Prothonotary’s Office highlighting available county resources, including the free name‑change clinic
A panel of experts with lived experience discussing the unique issues and barriers associated with LGBTQIA homelessness
A presentation from Laurel House addressing the unique dynamics and considerations related to LGBTQIA domestic violence
